So PMS is consuming me today and I'm in one of those 'leave me the fuck alone or I will eat your face' moods and I need something to read.

I'm in the mood for Rodney whump or heavy angst.  McShep is preferable. Self pimp if it fits the bill.

Apparently if Johnny jumps, I'm right there with him.

Friend me if you want, I'll probably friend you back.

If I did this right, then it should show up at LJ.

OMG. [livejournal.com profile] merwy  sent me the most awesome craft gift for the craft meme. I don't want to spoil it if anyone else is getting something similar from her, but full of coolness or hotness. Could go either way.  Anyway, Thanks so much for the wonderful present. I have no doubt it will get lots of use.

My apologies to any writer I've begged, pleaded and groveled to for more of a story. I didn't realize that was bad form. My bad.

Have you heard that the hate crimes bill is coming before Congress again?

I hope you'll join me in sending a message to Congress: we can't wait any longer for a federal law to protect lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender Americans from violent hate crimes. Take action at:

http://www.hrcactioncenter.org/campaign/hate_crimes

Ordinary people are living in fear for their safety and their lives every day, in small towns and big cities. Hate crimes against LGBT people are on the rise, but the federal government has no direct authority to investigate, prosecute or help local law enforcement crack down.

We can't let this continue. We can't let friends and neighbors become targets for violence simply because of who they are.

Congress passed the hate crimes bill in 2007, but because of George Bush's veto threat, it never became law. And now, right-wing extremists are once again making outrageous claims that the bill would criminalize preachers, end free speech, and so on.

Will you help make sure their lies aren't the only things members of Congress are hearing about this bill? Please click below to send a note urging Congress to pass the Matthew Shepard Act.

Thanks for your help.

This is either really sad or really pathetic or possibly wierd.  So I haven't communicated with my older sister in say...ten years or more. And I'm cruising through classmates. com on whim and I see her name so I bring it up and wow. I think I learned more about her there than I've ever known. Yes, I know it's sad, but she moved out when she turned 18 and never looked back. I maybe saw her a handful of times after that. What can I say, we were a seriously dysfunctional family. None of us make a huge effort to communicate so can't really pin it on just her.

So I contacted her and she actually emailed me back.  We'll see how it goes.

We finally got a nice snow today. It was beautiful so I ran outside and snapped a picture off the porch. When DH got home we all went down the hill for some sledding. I was a mere spectator because I am not stupid enough (nor young enough)to go careening down a boulder strewn hillside, but the kids and dad had a blast so it was worth it.

Me: *hands water bottle to Thing 1* Open this.
Thing 1: Why?
Me: Because I can't.
Thing1: Why?
Me: Just open the damn thing before I die from thirst.
Thing1: *cackles* Sucks getting old doesn't it.
Me: Shut the fuck up.

I'm sure this has been broached before but i'm curious. If the stargate does in fact translate languages, kind of like a universal translator, wouldn't it automatically  translate the different languages spoken by the Atlantis expedition into the language of the receiver. For example, if Radek spoke in Czech wouldn't Rodney or any other English speaker hear it in English?

I have a question about the device that is used to call for the Asguard beam. The transporter thingie they push and the Asguard beam takes them to the ship. They used it in McKay and Mrs. Miller. What is it called besides tranporter thingie?

Snagged from [livejournal.com profile] seekergeek

Post a single sentence from each WIP you have (or as many as you want to pick). No context, no explanations. No more than one sentence!
