I'm doing the craft meme thingie and I wanted to actually make something crafty rather than the whole virtual thing but I'm clueless on the whole shipping overseas. How much would it cost to ship something, say egg sized, overseas? I've never shipped out of the US so I have no idea what this would cost or if there are special requirements.I may have to resort to virtual gifts if the cost is prohibitive.

it's a weight issue: more heavy = more expensive. But you can also ship overseas rather than fly, takes a month or so. If it's paper/printed material and you tell the postal officer it's cheaper.

I've been shipping things overseas to the troops, and if you're in the US then you can ship anything, regardless of weight in one of the pre-sized postal boxes for roughly $8. Get the boxes free of charge from the post-office, and it's one rate, regardless of weight.

at least shipping the other way, the postal service in Denmark has a website where you can calculate a price based on size and weight. There might be something similar where you are... and may I be so bold - if it's something for me, I am happy to cover the postage cost, say, in the form of an amazon.com giftcertificate or something similar that I can do online. Or, you could go over to my LJ and sign up in the post of the meme I made - and I'll send you something back ;-)
