The last thing I did before I went on vacation in January was to go on my laptop one last time before putting it in my carry on. (See, mine even came with me to Florida.)
I was spending a WEEK in Disney with my family. (If it had been just the house, I would have been fine, but my cousin, her Boyfriend, and their two kids, both under the age of two were there.)
There wasn't a power in the universe that was keeping me from bringing my laptop, even though I really didn't use it all that much. Just the fact that it was there was enough to keep me from comiting homicide on more than one occasion.
I have two security blankets. 1)My laptop. 2)My Eeyore stuffie that can pull double duty as a spare pillow in a lurch. Very handy when pillows are few and family is numerous.
I spent 9 days on a choir tour without a computer and actually had to leave the room the one time a computer was available to me to escape temptation (it was in a Catholic school and I somehow doubted they'd appreciate me checking my LJ ;).
Pffft. I do that all the time. Though, really, it's second to last. My cat is actually alive, and meows even though she's not plugged in. My computer is not, alas, alive, and when not plugged in, does not complain.

I think I would die without either of them.
