As I attempted to write this evening it occurred to me that I can't get past Season Three. In my perfect world Carter does not exist in Atlantis and Carson didn't die. There you have it. There is no way I could write Carter unless it was some evil demented story involving her death. And Keller is so boring that I wouldn't even know where to begin with her. A character has to have character in order to write him/her. It's almost to the point where I find it increasingly difficult to even read a story that involves Carter, unless she is the mean nasty bitch my mind has conjured up.
I thought I might be overreacting to the whole Carter thing but I am increasingly incensed by her 'familiarity' with the characters. In my mind she has stepped into the role too easily and everyone is far too accepting. And if she calls Sheppard "John" one more time I might just puke. Would it be too much to ask that at least one of the characters find her less than wonderful? *gags*

Shudders
Aside from Rodney telling her he's involved (with JOHN, damnit) can you really see the man A) getting involved with his boss, and B) getting involved with a someone who has no respect for his intelligence?

McCarter? Next it'll be Shepter. Or Cartard?
I'm just going to my happy place now where Carter never ever came to Atlantis.

When I hear the producers talking about her it makes me sick. One of the questions asked of Joe last week was whether or not there would be any conflict between Sheppard and Carter, and apparently Joe was pushing for it, but the producers were all, no we can't do that because Carter is so nice and she would never do anything that would cause conflict with another person *pukes*

Please, do! Make my day... :-) (maybe this makes me bad person, but... *shrugs*).
I pretty much resigned myself to AUs after season 3.

May the show get canceled quickly are my only words. I would explain, but episode Trio is too scary and makes one want to cry so much it's sad. Plus I don't want to spoil someone who actually is trying to watch this crap.
You aren't alone. I miss my real show before that tried to make it into SG1:Lite.

"Hi, I'm Darkmoon, and hate Season 4 and Carter. And I tried to Acsend to get away from that... Wait, no that's the Alterns to get away from the Wraith..."

And Carson... noone can replace him, not even the fabulous Jewel Staite. There's just no chemistry between them anymore.

However, I find I'm backing away a little from SGA - mostly because of the way Sci Fi is dicking around with the renewal. I have no intention of being hurt and depressed the way I was when Angel was cancelled.

Word. Could she be any more flat? It's especially hard to take after seeing Carson who could so *so* *much* with so little.
And I wasn't that upset over Weir leaving (well, I was upset but not really for Weir, more for all the changes and fear of what Carter coming over would be like), but I actually found myself missing her after watching Doppleganger. I'm totally with you on the familiarity thing too. It got me how at the end of Doppleganger they showed Carter and Keller hanging out with the gang. Not that I think the gang would be mean enough to exclude her, but it just seemed so out of place, they hadn't earned the right to be there.
And I would think that John would feel a little more intimidated by her, since she's now the ranking military officer, and he's not going to be able to take control anymore if the shit hits the fan and there's a military situation. Elizabeth put up with it, but he can't expect to get away with it with Carter.
Rodney too, was only upset for about 2 seconds. You think we'd see just a little bit of bitterness after he thought he'd be getting the head position. And things have always been awkward between himself and Carter, you'd think he'd at least be nervous to have her there, and probably threatened, since he's used to being the smartest, he's admitted to her that he knows she's smarter (not that I think that statement still stands...).
I wish the writers would get over their giant crush on her, and write her realistically.

Exactly. It's like they seem to think they can just slip right in. TPTB are cramming them down our throats. In my mind they have not earned the right to be part of the 'team'. Carter has not earned the right to call Sheppard John. And I totally abhor how she treats Rodney.

Then there is Keller. Yeah, she is boring. That isn't anything against Jewel Stait. After all, unless it's Carter, the writers have pretty much shown they can't write women, and they pretty much only write Carter well situationally, when she's being a soldier or scientist, not herself. She certainly doesn't have any leadership presence.
So Keller, yeah flat, boring. Someone described her as not owning any of the scenes she's been in so far. I have to agree. The writers may not have given Carson a lot to work with, but PM really did well with it. I don't see Stait having the same luck. My only hope for Beckett is that apparently the writers are going to 'ship Keller and Ronon, so I'm thinking they'll kill her or something at the end of the season because having Ronon in a relationship with her would really be stupid and alienate fans.
